To begin with … if you only wish to use it on the beach (Marine Parade, Pasir Ris or Changi) licensing may not be required. 

However, if you plan to use it often and further out to shore, we suggest that you register the boat with MPA. 

-     Registration fee is only S$10.00 per annum (As a row boat or sailing boat). If you have a MPA pleasure craft license, you can register the WB8 as powerboat.

-      Registration fee for powerboat is S$35.00 / annum. A third party insurance coverage is required

-      Third party marine insurance cost between S$60.00 to S$75.00 a year based on S$25,000 third party coverage.

For those who live in private landed property, using WB8 is simple . 

With a car roof rack system from " THULE "  transporting the WB8 is a breeze.

Normally you would require two people to car top, although it only weights 71lbs. However if you are short handed, one person can also car-top the boat with the help of a loading mast placed length-wise on the support bars with pivot point at athawship, lifting the stern and carefully placed it between the two support bars. Viola!

Now, you can drive off to your favorite fishing estuary or those secluded spot up north for fishing or take an afternoon nap! Just like I did on the photo below.

For those of you who are staying at high-rise flats or Condo, we plan to approach the National Parks and People's Association to open up their land to store your favorite WB8 or at your nearest Community Centre. The boat is light enough to be stack away taking very little space.

If we succeed at the National Beach Parks level, the WB8 may actually interest ordinary young Singaporeans to go sailing and inspire them to aim for Olympic Class Sailor through our beach-combing programme!

We hope the authority is receptive to our pledge to bring affordable boating and healthy life- style to ordinary Singaporean families.
